Installation 11-21-09

22Nov

Thanks to all the Brethern who were installed as the 2010 Stonington Lodge Officer Corps. I believe the Installation of Officers went very well and was very well attended. It was good to see the side lines full of guests, friends and Brethern in support of the Lodge and its members.

Just a special note: The Rinbow girls are having a Mason/Father night on December 10th at 7:00pm and would like as many of us as possible to attend.

Well Brethren,

As my last few hours as Master of Stonington Lodge wind to a close, I want to say how grateful I am for all of the Support you have shown me and how Happy and Excited I am to hand over the Lodge to WB Elect Washburn.

I know he will do a fantastic job as Master and I know the new line of Officers will give him all the support he needs.

See you in a few hours.

Stonington Lodge’s Installation of 2009-2010 Officers will be held at Stonington Lodge on November 21st at 5pm at Amherst Masonic Temple. Please come out and support the Brethern as they enter the new Masonic Year. I know our Worshipful Master Elect has a lot of work this coming year and has a lot of things planned.

November 21st – Installation

November 24th MM Degree (for Brother Gartcher)

December 1st Officers Meeting

December 8th Annual Awards Night

Brethern,

As some of you know Donna Gnagy, a life member of Stone City OES, and member of El Rey Daughters of Mokanna recently had to have a hip replaced. She is currently at Avon Oaks in recovery.

I as Master of Stonington Lodge recieved a call that Donna was in need of a wheelchair ramp at her home, and that she requested the Lodge build this ramp if it could be done.

While Donna supplied the material, Stonington Lodge would supply the Knowledge, Skill and Labor. Thinking this through I realized that our youngest Fellow Craft Larry Gartcher had the knowledge and skill.

I explained to Larry who Donna was and what had happened, it is beyond my words to express the feeling I got when he agreed to perform this service out of his good will expecting nothing in return. A Man still in the midst of his Masonic Journey travelling through the Degrees willing to give of himself in Charity for a women he had never met.

Larry took charge of the project, got everything handled and requested some help with labor. I am pleased to say that thanks to the help from Brother Quinones  and Brother Bradley (If there is anyone I missed please let me know) as the Labor and Brother Gartcher as the Knowledge, Donna’s ramp was installed this morning, in a fashion that it can be removed when she no longer needs it. Out of these three Brothers only one has ever met Donna.

This Brethren is what Masonry is about,  this project is the last under my watch as Master of Stonington Lodge and I can not have hoped to end on a better note. Gratitude is something that at times is lost in the world we live in. Please know that I and Stonington are forever grateful for the help from these Brothers who came together for someone they don’t know because that is what Masons do.
